Base Level Performance

Simplicity is a beautiful thing. Modern car design is not all that simple. Especially in higher performance cars, active aero and complicated wheels are an indicator that we have come a long way since the Lamborghini Miura and original Miata. However, some have taken it upon themselves to remedy these issues, turning bespoke performance vehicles back into base level volume sellers. Here I have gathered what I think to be the best example of this work. I take no credit for these images, but I have supplied them with names when necessary. Let’s begin.

Ah, the one-missing-hubcap model. But it’s a C7, not a C5, and GM hubcaps no longer come in threes.

Almost all of them have an Aztek-like vibe about them, where a good idea was taken by accountants and made horrible.

The Fabia seems more likely although VAG is trying to be more upmarket now, so unlikely for both to be sold this way...

Funny, I had the exact opposite reaction, and I actually don’t like the way the TheFerrari looks in real life.
